Component 1 - Reporting
Criteria - Reporting
This is a straightforward description of the artwork. It does not explore the ‘essence’ of the work but focuses on the apparent features. Imagine that you are describing it to someone who cannot see it. (For the final submission, collaborate in order to combine perceptions and observations. Create a broader, group report of the piece. Marks will be given for clarity, detail of observation and perception).
A Floral Arrangement is drawn upon a small canvas; a floral bouquet being the central focus of colour and inspiration set upon a flourished background of pale pink watercolour. Pastel outlines of floral pink and lilac blooms contrast against a setting of light and dark green foliage. The floral arrangement is balanced, yet asymmetrical in design; incorporating straight, curved and round lines to enunciate the contrast between floral and foliage elements. Flowers and foliage are arranged in a mass grouping with two large, pale pink Liliums creating a focal point and contrast to the lilac Chrysanthemums and foliage, which adorn the perimeters. The arrangement is proportionate and is supported within an opaque glass vase.
